Recipe import

How to save recipes from Instagram and TikTok

Tap Share on the post, choose Frittu, and the recipe the creator wrote becomes a proper recipe card: ingredients, steps and macros, saved in one place with a link back to the original post. Or paste the post's link into Frittu.

It works with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook. Frittu reads the text the creator wrote, and if a post has no written recipe it tells you so rather than making one up.

How it works

  1. Share the post to Frittu

On the reel, TikTok, video or post, tap Share and pick Frittu. Or copy the link and paste it into Frittu.

  2. Keep scrolling

The import runs in the background, and Frittu lets you know when the recipe is ready.

  3. Get a real recipe

Ingredients with amounts, numbered steps and macros per serving, checked against your allergens.

  4. Cook it, plan it, keep it

Every import is saved to your Imports. Find it again, put it on your meal plan or send its ingredients to your shopping list.

Turn a TikTok recipe video into a written recipe

No more pausing and rewinding. Share the TikTok to Frittu and the recipe written in its caption becomes a list of ingredients and numbered steps you can cook from, with cooking mode and step timers.

Frittu reads the text the creator wrote. It doesn't listen to the audio or watch the video, so a recipe that is only spoken and never written down can't be imported.

Save Instagram reels as recipes you can find again

Saved reels get buried. A reel imported to Frittu becomes a recipe in your Imports, with the creator credited and a link back to the original post, next to the recipes you scan and plan.

The same works for YouTube videos and Facebook posts: share them to Frittu and the written recipe comes with them.

Checked against your allergen list

Each import is checked against your allergen list, and anything on it is flagged on the recipe. Because it's a recipe you chose, Frittu doesn't change it on its own; tap Remove My Allergens and Frittu rewrites it without the allergens on your list.

Why it helps

Only what the creator wrote

Frittu turns the written recipe into a recipe card. No written recipe in the post means a clear 'no recipe found', not a made-up one.

Allergens flagged

An import is your chosen recipe, so Frittu lists what it contains and flags anything on your allergen list instead of changing it.

Macros worked out

Every import gets calories, protein, carbs and fat per serving from its ingredients.

Four platforms

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook, shared from the app or pasted as a link.

Recipe import is included with Frittu Pro (up to 10 imports a day). Pro starts with 7 days free on the monthly plan, once per Apple ID or Google account.
